Trains in Thaialnd & Asia

Trains in Thailand

Good news you can know buy tickets up to 60 days in advance for trains in Thailand. I did not realize this fact either that you can get to the main train station in Bangkok by the MRT, which means that it is fast, easy and cheap to get there from just about anywhere in Bangkok now, with the exception of Khoa San rd, which you will still need to take a taxi or a boat to get to either the MRT or the Sky Train.

I love trains and have taken them in most of the countries in Asia. We did Yangon to Mandalay in Myanmar, Saigon to Nha Trang in Vietnam and Bangkok to Malaysia and the big one the China train to Tibet where they feed oxygen into the train cars as the train goes up on to the Tibet Plateau and you reach altitudes of 5,000 meters. We also did the maglev train in Shanghai out to Pudong airport that train gets up to 350 KM an hour which is pretty darn fast.

We leave to go to Phuket in a few days I will write more about the train in Thailand as well as put up a you tube video for you to see the train and the ride.
