Asia travel tips Phnom Penh extreme shooping Russian Market
Well I woke up today and I had on the agenda trying to figure out how to do EBay so I went to do some shopping at the best market in Phnom Penh for really cheap deals. I also thought this would be a good Asia travel tips for Phnom Penh Cambodia
The Russian market actually has another name but I can just never remember the darn thing. Most tourist that are in Phnom Penh have this particular market on their list of places to visit and for good reason you can buy recent released videos 3 for $5 you can get designer watches that are very good copies for less than $30. You can also get Khmer silks as well as all sorts of clothes.
The Russian market also has allot of other stuff that you probably will not want to take home with you like wrenches and screw drivers for a buck a piece, motorcycle parts, dishes, food stuffs like dried fish, and that doesn't even cover a tenth of what they sell there.
To get to Russian Market your best bet is to take a tuk tuk if their are more than one of you. You will pay anywhere from 2 to 4 dollars of course they will ask for more, but try not to spoil them to much as some of us have to live here. You can also get here by moto a fair price would be $1 but locals can get it for a little cheaper than that.
Most places in Phnom Penh you can walk to but this is not one of them, you can see in the video below that I am sweating a ton and that is because I am trying to lose weight, so I walk everywhere, but trust me it almost killed me and I walk around here all the time.
The other two markets that you might visit in Phnom Penh would be the O'Russey which is really a local’s only market but has a lot of clothes. The other one is Psaa Tmey or new market, it is also called the grand market which is featured on some of the old lonely planet covers. I shop there all the time but I also speak a little bit of Khmer so for you if you are looking for the best deals go out to the Russian market.
