Hawaii Spiritual Master speaks!

A very good friend of mine from Hawaii wrote this. I always listen when Kevin speaks as he is one of the most spiritual people I know. Recently I had the good fortune to stay with him in Hawaii and one of the neatest things about that trip was hanging out in Kevin's yard picking fruit! He has such a great place there, very quiet yet in Honolulu very close to Diamondhead and Waikiki. We also did some scuba diving, Kevin was great in the water before he did his PADI with us and even after not diving for probably two years was like a fish when we went to Electrics and Hanama bay, anyway enough from me check out Kevin's last email.

Stardate 2008-4-16. Teaching is an abused word. When someone says they want to teach me something, they generally mean they want to preach to me or exert controlling behavior under the guise of constructive criticism. I will no longer teach. I will share, guide, and if asked, I will suggest.

Television and newspapers create black holes in me. They fill me with a need or a question about my security (i.e., a fear), and then sell me the answer. The question they create is a spiritual question or need (“Am I a worthy person?”); but the answer they provide is material (buy this car). I upset myself by consuming these products. I engage in this consumption when I am not willing to make the effort to live my own life. I also engage in this preoccupation of fixing the world in order to avoid the more honest task of fixing myself; which is, of course, the only person that I can fix. This consumption creates a bigger and bigger hole in me because material answers cannot fill a spiritual hole. I used to respond to the bigger hole by more controlling behavior in order to obtain more material answers.

Recently, I realized that I needed a spiritual solution to a spiritual problem. The spiritual solution for me was a small adjustment in my attitude. Instead of fixing the world to be as I think it should be, I accept the world as it is. I am grateful for all the things that are true and beautiful in the world, and I try to make it better by making me better. I make myself better by not judging or controlling others. Instead, I try to accept people as they are, I try to be are grateful for the piece of God in them, and I try to give them only kindness and love.

Duke suite in Waikiki Pretty cool place to stay if you have a few extra dollars hanging around.

Angkor Wat Boutique Hotel Lotus Lodge

Well good news after hounding my good friends Andre and Mano they finally have sent me some pictures of their brand new boutique hotel in Siem Reap on the road to Angkor Wat Cambodia's World Heritage site for those of you that don't get out much!

I have had the pleasure of working with these guys for many years now and everything that they do they do well, seeing the new project finished, I can only reiterate every thing that these guys do they do well.

Bigger than I first thought with 36 rooms all together, with a full restaurant and bar. This is a family oriented hotel, so late nights at the pool bar will be very quiet I am sure. The pool is beuatiful and if my computer screen was a bit larger I would jump in.

I understand that they are running a Shiney Season Special! Be sure to tell them that Chuck sent you and I am sure they will take very good care of you!

To get a hold of them click on the link above.
