Saigon is a very cool city architecturally and the Saigon Cheap Hotels fit right with a riot of color with lots different sizes and shapes. All the city's in the Asia Pac have a certain charm for me Saigon is one of my favorites to look at behind Sydney and Singapore which makes me kinda think I should only go to city's that start with a S Ummmm. I also really like hanging out on the street drinking coffee Vietnam makes some great coffee nothing like the Peabody you get in Kona Hawaii but very tasty indeed with a nice little kick. A little tip for you here buy a metal cup, big is good & a 220 volt heater coil and put it in your travel bag. You can make coffee tea rammen noodles hell you can make spaghetti or rice if you work with it long enough. Maybe I'll do a travel cook book next!
Saigon you will not need to worry about reservations unless it is Tet for the cheap hotels. Saigon has lots of taxis that were cheap enough if you are in the Main backpacker budget tourist area everything you need is right there all though it was hard to find a proper grocery store you really will not miss it as the food is cheap and delicious. If you see a long line of Viet's at a street stall you can guess that it is good and cheap Watch what they pay with Dong and mimic them. Check your bank statement at a ATM in Vietnam congratulations you are a millionaire! the Pho or do you say FA is awesome!
Dai Hoang Kim Hotel Guesthouse
Very friendly and helpful staff this is biggest building in the area, with great panoramic views from the top floors. Very comfortable but small rooms. almost as small as some of the rooms in Singapore. Air Conditioned with a Elevator and Satellite TV a great location as you are one block in 3 directions from escaping the tourist area and getting into the city. Don't forget the bread crumbs very easy to get spun around in Saigon. Across the street you can find good internet and some good local eats the one place we ate at 3 times try the duck, should cost around $10 USD a great value for the money for a very cheap Saigon hotel . My very favorite rich uncle from California loved this one.
