The Curtis Boutique Hotel Denver
I love boutique hotels; in Denver you would not expect to find one of this caliber, especially where you could list the hotel as one of the cheapest Denver Hotels! Boutique hotels in Denver would seem to be a oxy moron one of my travel mentors the reason for my trip to Denver was looking at the photos that I was taking of Denver and commented that you are making it look like it is not a cow town well the fact of the matter is that Denver is no longer a cow town and should be on your travel list. The Curtis is across the street and from the Denver performing arts center and is surround by tons of cool and interesting restaurant bars and shops the likes of which you would expect to see in LA Aspen or some other hip bastion of cool not a gas stop on the edge of the Colorado Plains between Chicago and Vegas.
I really like the toiletries at the Curtis boutique hotel, for me half the fun is playing with the stuff in the hotel rooms. The toiletries are orange scented and as so as you start to apply them a smile breaks out, don't know but it does. They also have a clothes closet full of amenities like the coffee maker which was a little weird but after spilling everything on the floor I moved it into the bathroom and all was well. a iron with iron board and a luggage stand and a ice bucket with the ice machine down the hall. One of my pet peeves is TV's that are too far away from the bed the rooms are good sized but the TV is big enough that you can see the Phillips flat screen no problem.
This is a popular Colorado hotel with 300 rooms and the halls seem to be popular and noisy at night I also was a little put off that their was no refrigerator in the room, I can only guess that because they have a great bar and restaurant downstairs that they want you to take advantage of the late hours for food and drink. They have a race car for a alarm clock and that is one area for me that I don't want cool in my hotel rooms! I want easy to understand and operate, nothing worse than waking up and not being able to figure out how to shut the damn thing off being afraid that as it keeps ringing that all your neighbors are heading for the fire escapes.
Normally when we are looking for the cheaper hotels we use Hotels Combined but as we are always on the look out for new sites to use we were turned on to Mile High Holidays and this was cheaper than Hotels Combined as well as Expedia, Travolicty, Hotels.com or for cheap last minute hotel Rates to Go
When I called the number that I received from the Mile High Holidays website and said I wanted to reserve the room at the Curtis they quoted me $119 Ii said Mile High and they immediately quoted the rate on the Mile high Holidays website of $52.80 with taxes it came out to $60.64 which make it a few dollars more that the cheap hotels on Colfax strip. i like the fact like Travel Worm in Vegas that they honored the cheaper reservation rates quoted no problem.
