Air Asia
Air Asia is still suffering from a little bit of teething pains as they are growing rapidly, specifically booking your flight on line I have had troubles time and again, especially if you are on a slower net connection. I had the fastest internet connection I could get in Cambodia, and was not able to book it on line, but they are hands down the best bet if you are looking based on fare price alone. Something new that has been announced that I have not had a chance to try yet is online check in, if it works will be a major step forward for Air Asia.
Bangkok Air
Bangkok Air cost a little more, but they have a couple of advantages that make them a good choice. They offer a couple of flights a day, and the flight times are not ridiculously early; unlike the flights with Air Asia. I also like the fact that they have a free departure lounge that has free internet. The problem that they have, and I pointed out to the pastry girls who can't be bothered with, was that you cannot plug your computer in as they have a obscure plug configuration. I keep about ten different adaptors in my computer bag, and I did not have the one that would fit these plugs, and the Bangkok Air Ground Staff was totally uninterested in my dilemma of needing to recharge my computer. I like a lot of businessmen like working on the plane, because there is no phone and at 20,000 feet not even the most determined time waster can barge into your space to interrupt, so you can get some serious work done. The thing that really miffs me about this is that I live in Cambodia and cannot plug into the airport plugs, Why not? Beats the hell out of me!
