Tokyo Hotels & Guesthouses

Tokyo is one of the most massive cites that you will ever have the pleasure to visit. has many different areas wherebudget travelers will look to stay including the palace area which is Japans home of the emperors which has several districts around it including the famous Ginza where shopping and parting till you drop are world class Jimbchuo the used book area has many nooks and crannies to explore further out is Ikebukuro which rivals the Ginza for nightlife and shopping.

Tokyo Hotels & Trains
When choosing a hotel in Tokyo you should consider the distantness to the trains as this is the primary way for people to move around in Tokyo & Japan in general as traffic can be a chalange Tokyo trains are very fast and clean but as the system is very complex rivaling Sydney for complication to understand so if you pick a hotel that is where you want to be and does not have a lot of connections this is the true happiness. I do need to say that of the few times that I have asked for directions they were good and easy to understand and most of the ticket agents speak OK English to get you to where you want to go. get the track right and you will be OK. A real budget buster in Tokyo is the taxis if you chose a place that is too far to walk from, the taxis are clean and friendly but not cheap.. buses can be even more challenge if you do not speak the language but many people do use them to get to and from the airport myself I will stick with the trains. which is a 2 hour trip to Narita.
One of the neat things that you will enjoy is that nobody talks on their hand phones on the train this for me is something to look forward too quite the opposite of China where you have the constant spitting to tolerate.

Tokyo Cheap Hotels & Tokyo Guesthouses
Cheap hotels in Tokyo are very limited as well as being very expensive our favorite Tokyo guesthouse is Kimi Roykan which is a traditional Japanese guesthouse inn hotels. Kimi Roykan is located in Ikebukuro this is the best cheap hotel tokyo has to offer in my opinnion the location offers a fun time exploring around the train station. It has a traditional cedar hot tub that is something to remember, I am not a bath bubbles kind of guy but this was a quite pleasurable experience.
I also stayed at Sakura Hotel in Tokyo Jimbocho neighborhood this cheap hotel chain in Tokyo did not impress me at all especially the staff who treated me as a inconvenient annoyance to their day even after I told them twice that i was a travel writer of sorts and gave them my business card I really can't remember being treated this rudely before I also felt that the room and the hotel in general was constructed more like a jail than a hotel steal doors and very small they also charged for the towels that I just can't imagine fathoming at roughly $60 USD this is a Tokyo hotel chain to avoid. option Tokyo Family Hotel
Luxury Hotels you will find many of the big international brands including the four seasons but if you are looking for this class I would highly recommend the Palace Hotel but you need to hurry as this Tokyo luxury hotel is scheduled to be remade from scratch as they are going to demolish this beautiful hotel as rebuild this new Tokyo luxury hotel promises to come back as a superstar on a international scale.
